Last year, I was determined to gain control of the accessories necessary for Wisconsin winters. I dreaded the mornings of missing mittens, and “I can’t find a hat.”
I bought five bins, each person in our house has one for their winter gear. That is not the answer to the current problem; all five are overflowing; we need to get rid of some surplus gear.
Realistically, we all need a few ‘extra’ mittens and hats on hand. However, the amount of gear each person needs is much LESS when it is organized. If a mitten is missing, we should notice right away and can track it down. We won’t forget we have an extra pair of stretch gloves to use and buy more of something we already had.
Thirteen items lighter, the bins are manageable; just in time for winter.
